Death of a developer

Old Fourth Ward developer Bryon Washington, head of Ravenwood Development Company, Inc., was shot dead early Sunday morning in his Midtown home at Monroe Drive.

The local TV news quoted Atlanta constabulary saying that Washington had been estranged from his wife for six months and had been living elsewhere. He apparently came to the house in the early morning hours and one of two guests staying at the house felt "threatened" by Washington and opened fire. No charges had been filed as of Sunday afternoon.

Washington's projects include Bishop's Row, 513 Edgewood Avenue (pictured) and the proposed 629 Boulevard.
