Our Kovy

Okay, the Thrashers may not have a great shot at the Stanley Cup this year. But there's arguably no team out there that's more fun to watch, courtesy of one Ilya Kovalchuk. Hands down, Kovy is the most exciting player in the NHL right now. All grown up into a responsible two-way player, Kovy leads the league in goals, third period goals, and shorthanded goals. There's no one better from the slot. Recently acquired veteran Mark Recchi says Kovy's wristers are works of art. Though they lost against Florida last night, Kovy had two goals and an assist. His mom was visiting from Russia a week or so ago and Kovy scored a goal and pointed up at her. This Russian sniper is a class act. Enjoy.
