Livin' in the 'hood lowers yer IQ

Where a family lives matters more to educational success than a family's income, according to a new study out of Chicago. (Link here.)

The down-low:

"... the study revealed that living in a so-called 'disadvantaged' neighborhood for at least two years lowered a child's verbal test scores by four IQ points - or roughly the equivalent of one year of education."

Another reason to promote diverse neighborhoods.
